REAL WEDDING: An Unforgettable Destination Wedding in Colombia

Vanessa & Jaime Veira’s Extraordinary Destination Wedding in Cartagena, Colombia

The bride Vanessa recounts:
“A historic museum erected in the 18th century, an all white theme including guests dressed in tropical guayaberas, lively music and native performers set the tone for an amazing destination wedding in Cartagena, Colombia where a lucky girl wed her best friend.” She and the groom decided to “gather their close friends and family in the most romantic destination in the Caribbean.”

She continues, “The wedding itself was orchestrated by way of Casa de Novias, a wedding and events company in Barranquilla, who followed the brides vision to perfection. The ceremony took place outdoors with the impressive Cartagena cathedral looming overhead. Envisioning a very romantic feel, the reception was full of candles and white flowers which included imported tulips. The attention to detail was everywhere from the carefully crafted drink menu which included the Jaime-tini (named after the groom) and the Vane-politan (named after the bride). A bilingual menu was included at each table and depicted the carefully chosen food offerings on both the brides side – which was Lebanese – and the groom side – which was Colombian.  At midnight, guests enjoyed a lively presentation called “Hora Loca” where native Colombian dancers brought Carnaval to the wedding reception with their colorful attire and upbeat music. Following “Hora Loca”, guests enjoyed a midnight snack including Colombian delicacies.”

“Our guests came from all over the United States, Puerto Rico and we even had a guest from the Canary Islands! We hosted them since Wednesday night with festivities including cocktail receptions, a romantic rehearsal dinner and a yatch trip to Baru Island where we bid farewell. Our guests all agreed, it was the best wedding they had been to – and not just because the photo booth pictures depicted so, but also because of the friendships formed following the reception. The celebration was that of love and we are so blessed to have had one magical night that will last us our entire lives.”
